about.
florida born artist. farm worker, herbalist, truth seeker, traveler, explorer of inner space, lover of vast spaces. Hand cut collage, painting, drawing, performance art, installation, sculpture, and photography are mediums I feel proficient in. i have a BA from New College of Florida with a dual concentration in fine art and anthropology. My thesis explored what roles taboos, boundaries, associations, signs and symbols, and the semiotics of space play in how we form meaning both as individuals and culturally as a (w)hole. Farm Noir is my current style- unique, whimsical, surrealist, land and cloudscapes. I create these pieces out of spray paint through natural objects and collage meticulously cut by hand from old farming catalogues. I work on upcycled archival foam core and glass. I feel this work is a further exploration of humans and how they human through snippets of scenes, story telling, moods, states of mind. I'm very processed based. I make the scene. Then i sit with it. The environments i create i often enter. I feel like I'm there. That's how i know what belongs where. I feel the greatest impact comes from the subtlest of gestures.
